IAFI dismissed the proposal to auction the upper end of the 6GHz spectrum band, asserting it as irrelevant to TRAI's 5G spectrum auction consultation and emphasizing its previous rejection during WRC-19, mainly due to India's opposition. It further suggested delicensing the 6GHz band (6425MHz to 7125MHz) for technologies like Wi-Fi and NR-U, highlighting its extensive use in India and citing advantages such as wider channels, better speeds, and lower latency.
