Retired as Wireless Adviser to the GOI after 36 years of service. Head of Wireless Planning and Coordination Wing of Ministry of Communication, Responsible for spectrum management in the country which includes:
- Revision of National Frequency Allocation Plan, - frequency assignment to terrestrial and earth/space stations, registration of frequencies with the ITU where necessary, licensing,
- Resolving cases of harmful interference
- Participation in the ITU and APT conferences and their study groups. Submit national proposals / contribution to these conferences.
- National and international coordination for Radiocommunication; satellite coordination.
- Computerisation of spectrum management and radio monitoring; training of engineers in related fields.
- Finding extra spectrum for 3G and BWA by refarming spectrum.
- Spectrum pricing, possibility of spectrum auctioning and trading.
- Approval of siting of wireless stations and towers in the country
International Assignment:
Worked for:
- ITU in Vietnam for 2 months in 1989 as Senior Expert
- FAO in Vietnam for 3 weeks in 1990 as Senior Expert
- TCIL in Jordan for 5 and a half year 1981 to 1986 as technical expert
- ITU in Saudi Arabia for more than 5 years 2002 to 2007 as Senior Expert
- ITU in Cambodia in 2009 for 3 weeks as Senior Expert
- APT for SATRC for 1 year in 2009-10 as Adviser.
- TCIL in Ethiopia for 4 months July-Oct 2011
Job In Jordan:
- Assignment of frequencies to terrestrial stations, earth stations and space stations as per radio Regulations, National Frequency Allocation Plan (NFAP) and taking into account National Frequency Register(NFR), International Frequency Register (MIFR), Channeling Plans etc.
- Registration of frequencies with IFRB (now RRB) wherever necessary.
- National and international Coordination
- Inter-satellite system coordination
- Resolving cases of harmful interference
- - Study of ITU-R documents
- Approval of siting of wireless stations and towers in the country
- Preparation of National Frequency Allocation Plan.
- Examination of circulars from BR and RRB
