World Wi-Fi day is an initiative to celebrate and recognise the phenomenal role that Wi-Fi plays in our life by connecting people and things, by enabling affordable internet access to bridge the digital divide in communities and cities around the world by contributing towards significant economic value to the global economy and celebrate the substantial role that Wi-Fi is playing in cities and communities around the world by holding up the vision of ‘connecting the unconnected’.
The main concept behind this day is to strengthen the bonds and relationships with countries outside the network. Responsible stakeholders believe that through this bond they invest in a harmonised promotion of the campaign that is spread around the world.
World Wi-Fi Day was created with the aim of allowing participants of both the public and private sectors to recognize the role of Wi-Fi in bridging a digital divide. Wi-Fi is the most ground-breaking wireless technology present in our times. From the first public Wi-Fi hotspots in the early 2000s which enabled radically increased productivity on the move, through to the growth & development of Wi-Fi at present in today’s pandemic environment
Prime Minister’s Wi-Fi Access Network Interface (PM-WANI) is a critical initiative by the Government of India to elevate wireless internet connectivity in the country which will completely revolutionize the innovation and will also substantially improve the wireless connectivity of the country as well as boost the "ease of doing" business and also "ease of living".
ITU-APT Foundation of India (IAFI) in order to support India’s participation in World Wi-Fi Day will host a workshop on “PM-WANI- An enabling framework for 20 Million Wi-Fi Hotspots”
